La Jolla Bar Association, July MCLE Luncheon
Please calendar Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 12:00 noon, for the LJBA’s next lunch meeting at the Manhattan of La Jolla restaurant, located within the Empress Hotel at 7766 Fay Avenue (at Fay & Silverado).
The LJBA is pleased to have Weston Anson, Chairman of CONSOR, headquartered here in downtown La Jolla, as our MCLE speaker this month. Mr. Anson, a renowned expert on valuation of intellectual property for major corporations and celebrities, and an accomplished expert witness, will speak on “ETHICS AND EXPERTS.” Mr. Anson has spoken to us in the past and his presentations are always “cutting edge” from a legal and expert witness standpoint, and always extremely entertaining.
Weston (“Wes”) Anson, Chairman of CONSOR is a seasoned licensing valuation and marketing professional with a long history of successful programs at firms such as Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Playboy Enterprises and Hang Ten International. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (honors) from Harvard University. He is active in all of the major international trademark and intellectual property associations as a speaker and an officer. A prolific author on the subject of licensing and intellectual property, he has published over 150 articles in the United States and overseas. Since founding CONSOR in San Diego over twenty years ago, Wes has constructed and implemented numerous licensing programs for major corporations and has performed intellectual property valuations of hundreds of companies, such as America’s Cup, Estate of Dr. Seuss, Ford Motor Company, Louisville Slugger, McDonald’s Corporation, and Polo/Ralph Lauren. He has been involved in many famous litigation cases including the landmark case of Jesse Ventura vs. Titan Sports, Inc.; Woody Allen vs. American Apparel; Fred Dryer vs. National Football League; Paris Hilton vs. Hallmark Cards; and Gen. Charles “Chuck” E. Yeager (Ret.) vs. AT&T, to name just a few.
Mr. Anson’s presentation will provide 1.0 hour of MCLE credit and 1.0 of Ethics (part of the 4.0 hour MCLE ethics requirement for every attorney during each attorney’s MCLE reporting period).
