January 2020 MCLE Luncheon at Manhattan Restaurant with Danna J. Cotman

Please calendar next week’s MCLE lunchtime program at noon, Thursday January 9th, at the Manhattan of La Jolla restaurant – 7766 Fay Avenue.   

Attorney DANNA J. COTMAN is our speaker, presenting  “ENHANCING THE WORKPLACE CULTURE,” in which she will discuss how to recognize and address implicit bias, and the benefits of diversity, civility, and pay equity in the workplace.

The program will provide 1.0 hour of MCLE credit for the category: Recognition and Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession and Society.

 

Some information about our Speaker: 

Danna Cotman is a member of our association and a past president (2008).  She is the owner and founder of ARC IP Law, PC, a boutique intellectual property law firm located in La Jolla, California.  Her firm helps their clients add value to their businesses through handling a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright prosecution, IP litigation, licensing negotiations, and enforcement of intellectual property rights for her clients.   She is involved with a number of tech accelerators and works closely with entrepreneurs from early stages of launch through funding and sale.

Danna is the immediate past President of Lawyers Club of San Diego, a specialty bar whose mission is to advance the status of women in the law and society.  She holds a J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, an MBA from California Coast, a BSBA from Chapman University, and an AA in Fashion Design from FIDM.   Danna was recently awarded the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Alumni Association Outstanding Service to the Community award.

Danna is the current co-chair of the Lawyers Club Workplace Equity and Civility Initiative, and will draw upon her professional experiences and expertise to speak about enhancing the workplace culture – through recognizing and addressing implicit bias, and about the benefits of diversity, civility, and pay equity in the workplace.
