We are pleased to have as our speaker this month, local attorney Arturo Ocampo, Ocampo Law, who will present to our members on “Identifying and Mitigating Bias,” a program in which our speaker will discuss:

  • understanding the psychology of bias and how bias affects decision making, and various types of biases, such as affinity, ingroup-outgroup, confirmation, and anchoring bias;
  • tools that you can use to prevent and mitigate bias;
  • the types of bias experienced in law firms by women and persons of color; and
  • how to develop bias interrupters in the workplace, and in the hiring process.

Our speaker’s practice areas include Education Law, Discrimination Law, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Law. Mr. Ocampo also conducts internal investigations involving student and employee discrimination and misconduct cases at California Community Colleges.
