Michel ZelnickPlease Calendar LJBA’s lunch meeting on Thursday, April 14th at 12:00 noonat the Manhattan of La Jolla restaurant, located within the Empress Hotel, 7766 Fay Avenue (at Fay & Silverado).

The LJBA is pleased to have Michel Zelnick, CPA, JD, MFT, as its April speaker, who will present “Why Clients Don’t Take Our Legal Advice (Or Think That They Need A Lawyer) – And What You Can Do About It.”

Mr. Zelnick will discuss the common psychological barriers that cause clients to resist taking good legal advice, even from the most persuasive attorney, and will address motivational interviewing approach and techniques that can be used to harness your clients’ resistance to change and motivate them to follow your advice.

About Our Speaker:

Michel Zelnick is a Business Therapist who works with business partners and leadership teams in conflict with one another, to get them beyond their conflict and onto the same page. Using his past experience as a practicing attorney, “Big 4” certified public accountant, clinical psychotherapist, and business leader, Mr. Zelnick assists conflicted clients to constructively engage with one another and achieve alignment where negative emotions and psychological issues are adversely impacting their ability to work together.

Mr. Zelnick has advised public and private companies, partnerships, and boards for over forty years, integrating business and psychological approaches to complex leadership alignment problems. He brings pragmatic perspective to the psychology of conflict and constructively harnesses conflict to make leadership teams stronger.

Mr. Zelnick has a Masters in Business from McGill University, as well as a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego.
