Cruse\, APLC\, returning to present our members with additional and updated information about DIGITAL DATA – The Future of Evidence and How Technology Impacts our Practice\, including: \n\nElectronically Stored Information (ESI) – What is ESI?; Where is it located\, and in what forms do you find it?; How do you obtain it from the source?; What are your responsibilities and duties relative to handling ESI?\nExamples of Law Practice Problems regarding ESI – Avoiding Practice Nightmares; and related information\nWhere is E-Discovery Headed – What Does the Future Look Like for Attorneys and their clients?\nNow that you have obtained it\, How Do You Get ESI into Evidence?  \nTakeaways and Handouts regarding ESI Discovery\n\n  \nThe presentation is anticipated to cover a great deal of substantive material during its 60 minute duration\, and will provide 1.0 hour MCLE credit to participants.   \n  \nInformation about Our Speaker:\n\nGordon D. Cruse\, CFLS\nGordon D. Cruse\, APLC \n402 West Broadway\, Suite 900\nSan Diego. CA 92101-8512 \n  \nGordon Cruse has been engaged in the practice of law since December of 1983. He is a Certified Legal Specialist in Family Law\, receiving this certification from the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization in 1993; and has a Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV. \nGordon is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (2002) as well as the International Academy of Family Lawyers (2005); and is a Diplomat in the American College of Family Trial Lawyers. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America for both Family Law litigation and Family Law mediation; and has been selected as one of the Best Lawyers in San Diego each year since 2008.   \nGordon was selected as the Family Law Lawyer of the Year (2015) for San Diego County\, CA\, by Best Lawyers in America; and was selected as the Family Law Mediator of the Year (2017) for San Diego County\, CA by Best Lawyers in America. Gordon continues to be listed in Super Lawyers\, and was named among the 50 Top Attorneys for all of San Diego County in 2021 by Super Lawyers.   He is also listed with the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. In addition\, Gordon has co-chaired the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Budget and Finance Committee\, and has served as Chair of its Budget Compliance Committee and as the Academy’s Assistant Treasurer.  \nGordon is the CEO of E-Discovery Readiness & Response\, Inc. an e-discovery consulting firm assisting businesses and law firms with electronically stored information and electronic discovery matters. This includes the development of internal policies and controls related to electronically stored information in the workplace as well as developing electronic discovery demands\, responding to electronic discovery demands and overseeing the collection of electronically stored information.   \nGordon speaks nationwide on issues of Family Law\, Electronic Discovery and Evidence. Presentations on e-discovery have been made to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants\, CalCPA Society\, The San Diego County Bar Association\, The Bar Association of North San Diego County\, The State Bar of California\,  The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers\, the Louisville Bar Association\, the Beverly Hills Bar Association\, the South Carolina State Bar Association\, the Florida State Bar Association\, in conjunction with the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers\, the Kansas State Bar Association\, by invitation of the Supreme Court of West Virginia to the State’s Judiciary\, the State Bar Associations of Kansas\, Washington\, Nevada\, Kentucky\, New Jersey\, Indiana\, and Maryland as well as various law firms and other organizations. Gordon is a graduate of the Georgetown Law School’s Electronic Discovery Academy and the Arkfeld E-Discovery Training Course. Gordon is a lecturer at Arizona State University\, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law E-discovery Institute.  \nGordon lectures on legal ethics related to law practice management and electronic discovery\, client fee contracts\, separate property asset tracing\, evidence at trial\, and on electronic data as evidence. Gordon is one of the creators of and an instructor at the San Diego Family Law College of Trial Advocacy.   \nGordon served as a Special Master in over 375 matters overseeing issues of asset division\, valuation\, characterization\, income determination\, discovery and electronic discovery. Gordon serves as a mediator on Family Law and electronic discovery matters. (Gordon has completed the Harvard University Mediation program)  \nGordon serves as a privately compensated temporary judge in Family Law matters hearing all aspects of the case through trial.  \nGordon serves as an expert witness in Family Law matters and electronic discovery matters.  \nGordon received the Norby Award from the San Diego Superior Court Judiciary in 1998 for his work with the court and his excellence in the practice of family law. In 1994 Gordon received the Manuel Rios Award from the State Bar of California for his pro bono work.  \nGordon graduated from the University of California\, San Diego\, Revelle College\, in 1978 receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
